About Tsunami Radio Theater

The Tsunami Radio Theater serves as an outlet for the prodigious writing of author Patrick Redden. Working with a terrific crew of actors, the group strives to revitalize the lost art form of audio theater, which had its heyday in the 1940’s and 1950’s. Ranging from drama to comedy, the plays utilize the talents of some of Hollywood’s best voice-over actors. The thrilling stories take you to exotic locations, some of which are set back in time, but many also explore contemporary issues and themes. Look to this site for monthly new releases. And enjoy the original music provided by William Redden.

Patrick Redden
Cast of 2 AdamsSouthern California native, Patrick Redden, the director of Tsunami Radio Theater, received his degree in English from CSUF, and has been writing plays all his life. He settled on the notion of forming a radio theater group after traveling to Eastern Europe where he has relatives. After that trip, Mr. Redden appreciated the opportunities and freedoms that America offers to artists working in almost any medium. He has worked with over three hundred actors in the course of his nearly twenty-year career, drawing on the vast talent base of Hollywood. He enjoys writing both comedies and dramas, as well as working on the oil paintings for the cover art of his projects. He is an avid tennis and basketball player.

William Redden
William Redden’s first musical memories were of the “polka parade” radio show, vintage cartoon music, and “Mr. Blue” by Pat Boone. In grade school, he was required to audition for the choir, but sang badly on purpose to avoid being seen as a “sissy.” His parents enrolled him in accordion lessons and he eventually played a respectable “Three Blind Mice.” His parents then enrolled him in Boy Scouts, where he earned a merit badge for singing Kumbya with a mouthful of fried spam. Following these formative experiences he enrolled in the music therapy program at CSULB and did an internship working with psychotic patients. He has continued in hospital work, but now as a Speech Therapist, incorporating music into some of his sessions.
